The Gwent Greater Distance Club has a 50+ membership and included in this list are the winners of more than 80 x 1sts National, not only in Wales but also with the BICC. There are at least 6 Queen's Cup winners amongst the members and the Young Bird sale which is set to take place in late March/ early April on the Elimar web site gives fanciers Nationwide the opportunity to purchase stock from some of the very best lofts in Wales at the present time.

G Treharne & son of Nantyglo . Gareth and son Stuart are multiple National winners both within Wales and with the BICC having won 2 x 1st Open BICC in 2014 plus topping the section with the NFC and winning the hard Saintes National with the WSRNFC and ALL in 2014!! The partners offer three young birds which should be ready in late March / early April.
Padfield Family of Cwmtillery have donated 3 young birds from their stock loft. The successes of the Padfields' pigeons in long distance and marathon races over more than three decades have been well documented and with 5 x 1st National in Wales at over 600 miles plus many top prizes out to 750 miles with the BICC, NFC,CSCFC and BBC must rank them as one of, if not the best extreme distance lofts in the UK at the present time. The yb's will be June/July hatched from the stock loft.
Scammell & Peploe of Pontypool have won 9 National races here in Wales and have been placed at 2nd Open in BICC cross channel Nationals on two occasions in the past few seasons alone. In addition they have won scores of 1st Prizes at club and Fed level plus 1st Combine against a field of more than 10,000 pigeons. Ron and Paul have donated 3 young birds from their ultra successful multi purpose family of winners. All three youngsters will be double grand children of the Champion Nearly Cock who was placed 3 x 2nd in overseas National races and is sire and grand sire to more than 30 x 1st Prize winners including National winners.
Preece Bros & sons of Cwmtillery. The partners have been winning out of turn here in Wales for more than 40 years and have amassed more than a dozen National wins plus two Queen's Cups at distances from 180 to 600 miles. They offer a summer bred young bird. The purchaser will have the pick of the stock loft late breds.
Gordon and June Mears. Gordon & June have won 1st National Lerwick on the north road and 1st National San Sebastian on the south road. They offer a young bird bred down from their Barcelona cock.

Wilf Reed of Monmouth is yet another multiple National winner here in Wales and has also tasted regular success out to 700 miles in cross border Nationals with the NFC,BBC and BICC including 1st Open BBC Palamos with Endurance Pride of Wales. Derek Flowers is a winner of 11 x 1st National since resuming in the sport in 2006. These wins have come both inland at 200 miles and cross channel out to 520 miles. Derek offers a young bird out of his stock team bred from his family of Wall, Lunt & Green Janssens and Borgman Bros De Klaks
John & Pat Webber of Six Bells, near Abertillery have won 9x 1st National plus 1st Combine in Wales and have produced consistently excellent performances for many years here in Wales. In the 2014 Bergerac National they clocked the only bird into Wales on the day after 15 1/2 hrs on the wing when there were only two birds clocked on the day in the UK. John and Pat offer a young bird from their stock loft containing the very best of their long established National winning bloodlines crossed with direct George Carteus lines.
Fishlock Brothers & son are once again a partnership with multiple National wins to their credit on both North and south east routes into Wales. They offer a second round youngster which should be ready at the end of April. This one contains Brockamp's Euro Diamond bloodlines when crossed with their Queen's Cup winner Channel King.
Dickie and Steve Pearmain of Wickford in Essex are double International race winners with the BICC and feature regularly at or near the top of BICC International race results. They offer a young bird bred in their stock loft in Donegal which will be closely related to the lofts top pigeons and containing the Nico Volkens Jan Aarden x Ols English long distance bloodlines.
David Hales of Hockley in Essex is a multiple National winner with the NFC and the BICC and in 2013 David's pigeons won the Europa Cup within the BICC for best Average ALL International races. David has donated a young bird bred directly from his great long distance racer "Duncan" winner of 1st Open BICC Marseille plus many other top prizes.
Steve and Lesley Wright of the House of Aarden have donated two August bred latebreds from two of the principal stock cocks at the Stud.
Namely, one from Padfield's St Vincent, winner of 1st Open BICC St Vincent International when he was mated to his own daughter. The second youngster on offer is bred directly from Champion stock cock " Young Boris" who is sire of birds to win 1st,3rd, 5th etc Open Barcelona plus many other top long distance prize winners. The young bird will be bred from Young Boris when mated to his own daughter.
We also have a young bird kindly donated by A & T Deacon whose family of Southwell based long distance diehards have been winning top prizes on the International race scene for more than three decades.
